SOCIAL PRESCRIBING: UTILISING COMMUNITY ASSETS.

Initially it will be explained in the workshop what social prescribing is and how the approach has potential benefits for the health and wellbeing of patients, the community and the healthcare professionals.

The aim of the workshop is to discuss the acceptability of social prescribing as a concept within different healthcare systems in Europe and the requirements to achieve this in primary care. It is anticipated that there will be discussion on barriers and facilitators to start such initiatives in practice and in the different communities which could be used for the development of a framework for healthcare professionals.
